This course has been co-developed by INACSL and CAE Healthcare Academy and offers global participants the opportunity to design, facilitate and debrief a Simulated Clinical Experience™ (SCE) using the INACSL Standards of Best Practice: Simulation SM for use in all areas of healthcare simulation.

The Fellowships are designed for new simulation educators, existing simulation educators who need additional support, and directors overseeing a simulation center. The course is experiential and interactive in nature and utilizes seminars, discussion groups, plenary sessions and “hands on” activities to deliver course content. Each Fellowship is a three-part program consisting of webinars, face-to-face workshops, and mentoring.  Each cohort will consist of no more than 30 participants and three facilitators.  Facilitators are simulation experts with five or more years of experience creating and delivering effective simulation education globally.

Educational Revolution
Two-Day Workshop

  • Introduction to Educational Psychology
  • Implementing the INACSL Standards of Best Practice: Simulation 
  • Educational design of simulation activities
  • Creation of your own educational strategy using any form of simulation pedagogy (e.g., Mannequins, SPs etc.)

How to Communicate to Facilitate "Live" Webinar

  • Introduction to communication strategies
  • Overview of facilitation, debriefing and evaluation

Immersion Faculty Development
Two-Day Workshop

  • Pre-brief, facilitation and debrief strategies
  • Evaluation tools
  • Role-play facilitation and debriefing of your own simulation activity
  • Peer review and feedback
  • Facilitation and debriefing in challenging situations

Mentoring Program

Monthly online activities with designated facilitator and peers of fellowship cohort to include: 

  • Ability to have conversations with your facilitator from the workshop to further your professional development.
  • Professional chat room
  • Case Studies
  • Journal article review
  • Teaching strategies
  • Research methodologies
  • Peer review of facilitation/debriefing
  • Reflective journaling

Registration includes: course tuition and materials, one free year of INACSL membership, one shirt, pin and certificate, breaks and lunches during the workshop days. Travel expenses are not included.

Payment is due upon registration. Credit cards are the preferred form of payment and are processed at the time of registration. Payment by wire transfer, check or purchase order is accepted within 10 days of registration, however your seat is not reserved until payment is received. To complete registration payment via wire transfer, check or purchase order please contact Katie Holt.

Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel, you may request to move your registration to the next available cohort. If you are not able to attend the next available cohort and must cancel the following fees apply:

  • 30+ days prior to Module One = $250 cancellation fee, $1,750 refund
  • 29 - 14+ days prior to Module One = $1,000 cancellation fee, $1,000 refund
  • 13 days prior to Module One or no show = $2,000 cancellation fee, no refund
