Dr. Suzie Kardong-Edgren PhD, RN, ANEF, CHSE, FSSH, FAAN is currently the nurse scientist at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth TX and a Senior Fellow at the Center for Medical Simulation In Boston MA. She has been active in both the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) and the INACSL. Dr. Edgren served as the Editor of Clinical Simulation in Nursing for 10 years and as a past VP of Research for the INACSL. She is currently Editor-in-Chief of the new CHSE and CHSOS online study guide review manuals for the SSH. She consulted on the landmark NCSBN National Simulation Study that determined that up to 50% simulation can be successfully substituted for traditional clinical. She remains on the cutting edge of research in emerging technology for experiential learning and simulation. Two major foci of Dr. Edgren’s presidency would be to support community hospitals as they adopt simulation to improve patient care and team communication and to make the INACSL Standards more widely known and used by all simulationists.
