Laura Gonzalez is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida, College of Nursing. She has held positions as past director for a large simulation center in South Florida. Recent funding includes a Florida Blue Grant to explore the transition from senior nursing student to professional nurse using high-fidelity simulation. Past funding includes 1.3 million HRSA grant for the education of nursing faculty in the areas of simulation, telehealth and IT. She is currently interested in the use of simulation to enhance clinical decision-making and use of simulation to enhance psychomotor skill performance. She has been a faculty advocate and Pearson contributor for over 7 years. She is a member of INACSL, and most recently the Lead Nurse Planner. She is the interim director for the Florida Healthcare Simulation Alliance (FHSA).
