Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Doctorate in Nursing or related field from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Must be eligible for, or hold, unencumbered Texas license as a healthcare professional.
  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) or Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification preferred.

 

Job Description: 

  • Actively participates in the leadership of the School of Nursing (SON) by participating on the Assistant Director and Executive teams.
  • Develops and implements strategic planning, including short and long-term goals and objectives, to meet the educational mission and pedagogical vision for the skills and simulation labs.
  • Manages and supervises skills and simulation staff by directing day to day program activities of staff, approving schedules, identifying priorities, setting standards for achieving goals, and regularly evaluating performance.
  • Identifies and coordinates professional development opportunities for skills and simulation staff and faculty to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in meeting the SON’s educational mission.
  • Conducts ongoing assessment and evaluation of skills and simulation labs through the implementation of a systematic continuous improvement process.
  • Coordinates and schedules skills/simulation and Inter-Professional Education (IPE) activities with all stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with all stakeholders to create, implement, and evaluate simulation activities to meet the educational objectives of the SON.
  • Conducts and/or delegates all aspects of simulation activities throughout the semester.

 

 

This position will be a 10 month position, in which the applicant will not work in June and July. Summer work may be available based on department needs.
