JOB DESCRIPTION: The University of Minnesota seeks an outstanding leader and scholar in health focused simulation to carry on its high-ranking reputation of simulation in the context of interprofessional education.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Executive Director plays an important leadership role in the overall strategy and operations to advance and support health professional simulation at the University of Minnesota. She/he must have the ability to exercise sound and fair judgment in applying and interpreting policies and procedures; superior interpersonal skills in order to establish and maintain trusted working relationships with all stakeholders; demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty leaders; recognition by the faculty as a role model; business acumen; and effective, clear and concise oral and written communication skills.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Credentials for appointment to a faculty position at the University of Minnesota. Terminal degree required but can be from any health sciences profession or in education. Expertise in health science simulation with a national and/or international reputation as a leader in the simulation field including scholarship in the area of simulation. At least 5 years of experience in health sciences inter-professional education and/or assessment. A record of success and progressive responsibility and leadership in simulation. Research experience in simulation including publication and presentation of scholarly work and a track record as an investigator or subject matter expert in grant-funded activities. Strong track record demonstrating effective leadership skills, flexibility, and excellent organizational and managerial abilities. Strong collaborative and consultative skills. Effective, persuasive communicator.
