JOB DESCRIPTION: The Yale University School of Nursing is seeking applications to fill one full time, 11-month, Full Time Lecturer Position. The candidate will function as Simulation Faculty under the direction of the Director of the Simulation Lab and assist with the day to day operation of the Simulation Lab. The candidate will be expected to assist faculty with the consultation, creation, and execution of simulation and skill lab components for the following programs: Graduate Entry into Nursing Practice, Family Nursing Practitioner, Midwifery, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, and Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. This position will require the candidate to interact directly with students, faculty, staff, interprofessional colleagues, and vendors. This is a high-paced dynamic environment that will require the candidate to be willing to learn new technologies and skills as they emerge. The candidate will function in all aspects/roles of a simulation educator.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Nursing; Current unencumbered CT RN Licensure; substantial experience in simulation education for nursing students; excellent communication skills and interpersonal relationship strategies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in Nursing or related Field; three years of practice experience in relevant clinical area; teaching simulation with high fidelity simulators and standardized patients, clinical experience as a NP or teaching graduate nursing students in off campus or on campus clinical experiences; Certification as a Healthcare Simulation Educator. Preferred Knowledge: Familiarity of INACSL Standards, SSIH accreditation guidelines, and unique competencies based on specialties taught. Knowledgeable of various teaching and learning styles. Knowledgeable of audio/video equipment and simulation related software.
