Job Description: The School of Nursing (SON) within the College Health and Human Services at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) seeks an outstanding faculty member for a nine-month, full-time, clinical practice track faculty position in the Simulation Learning Center at the rank of Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor. Appointment at the ranks of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor is dependent on qualifications relative to university, college and school standards. Practice track faculty are initially appointed on a contract of up to 5 years that is renewable based on performance and are eligible to apply for promotion to higher Practice Track ranks. Appointments begin in August 2021; however, the start date is negotiable. This clinical track faculty member will have teaching responsibilities in the Simulation Learning Center, undergraduate and graduate programs, and facilitate simulation educational activities and training for faculty in order to meet NC Board of Nursing requirements related to nursing faculty teaching simulation. Additionally this individual will work with the Simulation Learning Center coordinator to maintain a compliant simulation lab environment which includes development of policies, procedures. The Simulation Learning Center uses high, medium and low fidelity human patient simulators and standardized patient actors as a teaching and learning tool for nursing education. Through the use of simulation, we strive to create a realistic environment and a powerful learning experience that promotes cognitive, affective, psychomotor, and social learning opportunities for students while incorporating interprofessional collaborative experiences for students across the degree programs in the College. dministrative position with eligibility for faculty title and rank based on background and experience.
