Job Description: The Simulation Research & Innovation Nurse collaborates with investigators and research staff to coordinate educational and translational research activities related to OSF’s Jump Simulation Program and OSF Innovation. Responsibilities include research procedures, process, and communication between departments, programs, physicians, patients, and research team members, using clinical insight, regulatory knowledge, and communication skills to provide comprehensive research support to all aspects of research conducted at/in conjunction with Jump’s Simulation Program and OSF Innovation. The position includes oversight of enrollment of patients, learners, and others as research participants and/or educational participants for internal value demonstration. 


This individual will conduct clinical and educational observations as part of the educational outcomes process, and train others to do the same. The Simulation Research Nurse will create, gather, analyze, and report on clinically relevant curricular assessments and evaluations across our various simulation platforms.  This individual will also work with our innovation discovery labs on projects that collect and manage clinical and educational data. 


Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or greater qualification.  [Alternative clinical credentials will be considered with substantial research experience.  Inquiries welcome.]

Required Experience:  

  • 2 years of clinical experience. Time in post BSN or other post terminal degree clinical role training would apply.
  • 3 years of research experience OR 2 years of research experience and proof of certification through the Society of Clinical Research Associates SOCRA (CCRP credential) or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) (CCRC credential)

Preferred Experience:

  • Direct experience in study enrollment processes.
  • Experience as lead coordinator for institutional review board interactions.
  • Demonstrated project management skill.


Salary Range: 59,260.00-87,110.00
