JOB DESCRIPTION: The School of Nursing at Eastern Illinois University is accepting applications for a full-time, 10 month position. The position is the founding faculty of the new traditional Bachelor of Science in nursing program. The simulation laboratory is currently under construction.

The desired start date is August 16, 2020.

DUTIES: The department seeks candidates who are committed to student learning, and the academic and clinical instruction of undergraduate nursing students in traditional BSN and RN-BSN programs. Other duties as assigned may include teaching; clinical instruction; research; and service. Mentoring and advising students, contribution to faculty governance, and engagement in program research is expected. Simulation Coordination Duties 1) Responsible for managing, facilitating, and teaching activities for the simulation center and skills laboratory, this may include nursing students, external health care providers, community groups, and clinical partners. 2) Responsible for the operation and maintenance of high, mid, and low fidelity simulation equipment, audio-visual equipment, learning center software and computer equipment. 3) Implement and maintain a Simulated Patient program. 4) In collaboration with all nursing faculty and simulation technologist will design, develop, set-up, and implement simulated learning scenarios and equipment for all nursing courses. 5) Maintain appropriate equipment and supplies necessary for completion of all skills in the learning center. 6) Coordinate training of new equipment, technology, and other materials for faculty, staff, and students. 7) Oversee scheduling and maintain the simulation center calendar. 8) Stay current with healthcare technology and simulation pedagogy.
