JOB DESCRIPTION: About the Job The Simulation Director has administrative and faculty responsibilities for Simulation education (low, medium and high fidelity) in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program. The director provides leadership, management, and coordination of simulation learning experiences including current and relevant practice of procedural simulation and clinical reasoning and best practice standards for simulation scenarios. The director, in collaboration with lead course faculty, oversees student learning achievement, and evaluates student competencies. The director assures relevance and excellence in Simulation Student Learning Outcomes (SSLO), including skill competency, based on the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) and Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) guidelines and standards. This is a standing nursing faculty position with administrative release time. This is a twelve (12) month faculty position with faculty rank and privilege. Upon hire or appointment, the Simulation Director receives and fulfills both Standing Nursing Faculty and Director of Simulation job descriptions.
KEY JOB DUTIES: 1. Provide leadership and management for the BSN student educational experiences to assure quality and integrity of the academic learning, course curriculum, services, and operations according to best practice. 2. In collaboration with the Simulation Operations Specialist and Western Colorado Simulation Coordinator, negotiate, purchase, manage and inventory all laboratory supplies and equipment including equipment needed for courses and student nurse kits.
REQUIRED: We’re looking for candidates who have: 1. Doctorate in Nursing with emphasis in Simulation preferred (PhD or DNP). MSN from an accredited nursing education program is required. 2. A current unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Colorado is required.
