Definition of Simulation: Simulation is a pedagogy that may be integrated across the pre-licensure curriculum. “Simulation is a technique, not a technology, to replace or amplify real experiences with guided experiences that evoke or replicate substantial aspects of the real world in a fully interactive manner (Gaba, 2004).
Simulation Educator Requirements:
- Formal faculty education required for simulation experiences substituted for clinical experience time; must maintain competencies in simulation and debriefing.
- Must provide a simulation environment with adequate faculty, space, equipment, and supplies that simulate realistic clinical experiences to meet the curriculum and course objectives.
