Volunteer with INACSL

The success of INACSL's mission, vision, and values are due in large part to our volunteers. Individuals must be an INACSL member to be eligible to volunteer. INACSL is not currently accepting applications for volunteers.

ISEP Facilitators

Facilitators for the INACSL Simulation Education Program (ISEP) program assist in teaching and coordinating students through a comprehensive, online program that incorporates participant discussion boards and video sessions. Standing Committees & Sub-Committees

Standing Committees and sub-committees are established as necessary to carry on the work of INACSL. The term of office for all appointed positions shall be two (2) years or until their successors are selected. Committee Chairs and members may serve no more than two (2) consecutive terms on the same committee unless an exception is requested. Terms usually start in June, at the conclusion of the annual conference, and end the following June. Committee meetings occur regularly, typically monthly or quarterly depending on the specific committee and their needs.

Committee Chairs and Vice-Chairs

Each committee has a Chair and Vice-Chair. Chairs and Vice-Chairs are approved annually by the President of INACSL in consultation with the Board of Directors. Vice-Chairs are appointed for one (1) year and accede to the position of Chair for one (1) year after completing their year as Vice-Chair. 

Chairs perform the following duties:

  • Works with staff to develop the agenda for each call or meeting
  • Determines when to cancel a scheduled meeting or convene an unscheduled meeting
  • Presides over all meetings and conference calls/or designates a moderator/li>
  • Delegates tasks to committee members
  • Provides reports to the Board of Directors
  • Works collaboratively with the Vice-Chair and trains them for succession purposes

Vice-Chairs perform the following duties:

  • Presides over meetings in the absence of the Chair
  • Learns the duties of the Chair in preparation for succession
  • Accedes to Chair following their term of service as Vice-Chair

Committee members perform the following duties:

  • Participates in all meetings/conference calls
  • Completes tasks and assignments as designated by the Chair, Vice Chair, and the BOD
  • Promotes committee activities to other members of INACSL.
  • Maintains confidentiality of Committee activities and discussions.

Elected Positions

Members of the Board of Directors and Nominations & Elections Committee are elected annually on a rotating schedule. Applications are accepted each fall for terms starting in June, at the conclusion of the annual meeting. All individual INACSL members are eligible to hold office if they meet one (1) or more of the following criteria:

  • Has been a Chair or member of an INACSL Committee or Subcommittee
  • Is a current Board member or has held a leadership role at a like-minded organization
  • Demonstrates a track record of active participation and contributions to the organization

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is the principal governing body of INACSL. The Board of Directors provides mission-based leadership and vision, strategic governance, and succession planning. Directors ensure implementation of strategic initiatives and responsibilities as determined by consensus of the Board of Directors. Directors act as Board Liaisons to Committees, overseeing Committee Chairs within their responsibility to ensure the work of each committee is carried out and identifying committee recommendations that should be presented to the Board of Directors. Each Director provides leadership for succession planning for their position, as well as the position of the Committee Chairs for which they are responsible. Directors serve a term of two (2) years and can be re-elected for a second term.

Nominations & Elections Committee

The Nominations and Elections Committee is responsible for annually soliciting names of members who are interested in running for office through a virtual nomination process and preparing a slate of candidates for each elective office. Members of this committee serve a term of two (2) years.
